Come back to fundamentals — the very cool fundamentals — with Leatherman’s Skeletool CX. Today’s outdoor partizans prefer to keep weight and volume to a minimal without sacrificing quality and real functionality, and that’s what the Skeletool is totally about. A lot of multitools accept multiple options, but they are often bigger — and they’re loaded with a lot of features than most people really need on a regular basis. Conversely, pocket knives are light and streamlined, but they render themselves un-needed as the task calls for a more versatile tool. Get into the newly Skeletool platform, offering minimum weight, compact sizing and endless capabilities.

The Skeletool CX has a big knife sword that can be got at while the tool is unopen; to open them, simply place your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade and go around it out until it is fully extended — which will engage the safe lock. This locking mechanism is noted with a padlock symbol on the tool. To unlock the sword, press the locking mechanism toward the handle until the sword slides past the lock in.

Equipt with a universal bit driver, the Skeletool offers actual utility options like no else multitool. To modify the instrument bits, simply unfold the tool and move out the bit from the bit driver — and pop it out. And replacement bits is just as easy. Just push a new one into position and you are good to go. There’s even a spare bit located in the handle side opposite the knife sword. This tool includes the next bits: Phillips #1 and #2, screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch.
In the plier jaws you will find a hard-wire cutter and a regular wire cutter. The regular wire cutter is great for softer grades of wire, but the hard-wire cutter is superior for harder jobs — like cutting and bending fishhooks.

The Skeletool keeps them elementary — and easy, and compact, and easily to transport. Why waste time with pointless, big add-ons when all the basics are right at your fingertips? With its open hardware, skeletal conception and hardy appearance, the Skeletool boasts a premium stainless steel blade, pliers, a general bit driver, and a carabiner/bottle opener … and that’s it.

Hunt knives, tactical knives and bag knives is the character from instruments that all huntsman needs at any point or another. Once it comes time to make your game for transport off the mountain or to look of some camping basics like cutting or chopping, it’s important to have a sturdy, reliable hunting knife that you can count on to last for several hunting seasons. If the tactical knife or pocketknife is perpetually dull or flimsy it is very unlikely that you will enjoy your time hunting and may in fact result in a lack-luster hunting season. That’s why it is important to make sure to always have the right blade on you at every times, and to choose the right blade. Many people don’t know that there’s more than one blade type, when really there are three main blades that a person can choose from, depending on their individual needs.

Drop Point Blade Hunting Knives

The drop point blade is the most popular type of tactical knife blade on the market today. The drop point has a sharp curve to the blade and it’s forged of a thick, durable steel blade that can stand up to just about anything. The edge of the drop point blade gets in one of the most utilitarian of the three knives mentioned here. It can be used to jab or point as well as slice, and it is very useful for efficiently skinning game after it’s been killed.

Clip Point Blade Hunting Knives

The clip point blade is another among the more favorite types of hunt knives out there. Although the clip point isn’t nearly as popular as the drop point blade, the clip point blade is made of thinner steel and the blade is flat, with a point to it. The clip point blade is perfect for skinning game as well, but the clip point blade is also perfect for other uses that are not related to hunting, like cutting ropes or branches or other things of that nature. The clip point blade is a useful knives for hunters to have, and is one of the most commonly used and carried types of hunting blades out there.

The Skinning Knife

Skinning knives are other popular hunting knives, although they are not nearly as multipurpose as some of the other tactical knives on the market. Skinning knives are just for that, removing the skin of a game animal from the meat. Skinning takes a certain type of blade in order for the meat to be as well preserved as possible. If you find that you lose a lot of your game during the skinning process, you may would like to consider purchasing a skinning knife in addition to a more tactical blade.

Having reliable hunting knives is an important element of successful hunting, whether you are a big game hunter, waterfowl hunter or fisherman. By knowing the various blade types available you can determine which best fits your needs and your use level. Remember that there’s more to a knife than the style of its handle or its price. The craftsmanship and style of the blade are the fundamental elements that will make the hunting knife a valuable addition to your hunting equipment.
